NEW YORK, NY - September 24, 2025 – Gina McCarthy, former White House National Climate Advisor, 13th U.S. EPA Administrator, and Managing Co-Chair of America Is All In issued the following statement as countries submit their new Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) in response to the UN Secretary General’s call for high ambition targets:

“America Is All In applauds world leaders submitting updated climate plans that align with the targets of the Paris Agreement and reflect the goals of the communities they serve. We need more and stronger NDCs if we are to achieve the Paris Agreement’s goal of limiting global temperature rise by 1.5 °C.

“As the driving force of U.S. subnational climate action and international cooperation, America Is All In is committed to working with states, cities, and businesses to build an ‘all of society’ approach to meet the U.S. NDC. Cities and states are at the forefront of global climate action, developing innovative policies and solutions in partnership with businesses, healthcare, and academic institutions. The more subnational leaders are included and empowered, the faster and farther countries can go. We look forward to working with our international counterparts to foster global collaboration and help local leaders everywhere strengthen their own country’s goals.”
