WASHINGTON, DC (January 28, 2025) – Today, Gina McCarthy, former White House National Climate Advisor, 13th U.S. EPA Administrator, and Managing Co-Chair of America Is All In issued the following statement in response to the Trump administration’s order to stop all federal grants and loans: 

“The damage this order will do to people and businesses across the country is unthinkable. Cities, states, businesses, and local institutions are working tirelessly to create good-paying jobs, provide healthy and affordable energy, and protect the lives and livelihoods of the American people. These federal funding cuts are throwing our economy into complete chaos. 

America Is All In members -- a coalition of 5,000+ community leaders from across the country -- are making it clear that these directives are confusing and dangerous; will have costly, even deadly, impacts for everyday Americans; and will create huge investor and economic uncertainty.

Congress must do what the voters elected them to do: work with the Trump administration to ensure that clean, homegrown energy thrives and our communities receive the funding they need – and Congress promised – to lower energy costs, protect local jobs, and stop pollution.”
