America Is All In Reaffirms Commitment to Climate Leadership on Paris Agreement Anniversary
Hundreds of climate leaders from across U.S. society pledge to continue their climate commitments to bring good-paying jobs, clean air and water, and equitable economic prosperity to their communities
WASHINGTON, DC, December 12, 2024 – Today, on the ninth anniversary of the landmark Paris Agreement, America Is All In — the largest coalition of climate leaders in the United States, representing nearly two-thirds of the U.S. population and approximately three-quarters of U.S. GDP — announced a bold sign-on statement reaffirming its support for continued, ambitious non-federal climate action. In the sign-on statement, hundreds of members from a diverse array of state and local governments, businesses, and institutions pledged to continue accelerating climate progress and achieving a healthy, just, prosperous, and sustainable future for all.
“We, the undersigned entities, stand committed to the goals of the Paris Agreement and to doing what is necessary to reduce emissions in line with a 1.5℃ global climate target. Only when we follow the science can we protect our communities from extreme and expensive climate impacts, grow our economy for the benefit of American workers and innovation, and keep our air and water clean and our children healthy,” the signatories said. “To do that, we need tools like the Inflation Reduction Act and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, tools we will continue to use as a basis for investment to create jobs and economic opportunity across the nation. From the boardroom to the classroom, from neighborhoods to the halls of government, we are committed to fighting climate change, improving livelihoods, advancing environmental justice, and investing in and building a future that is worthy of generations to come.”
In a video featuring America Is All In Co-chairs, members of its Leaders Circle, and other subnational leaders, Managing Co-Chair Gina McCarthy said: “We stand committed to the goals of the Paris Agreement. Climate action looks different for each of us, for every sector and every community, but the future it will build is one we will all benefit from."
As the U.S. and the world confront mounting climate impacts — extreme weather, devastating wildfires, unprecedented hurricanes, and more, costing the world $2 trillion over the past 10 years — America Is All In’s members are taking action to protect their communities and strengthen the U.S. economy by launching apprenticeship programs in Pennsylvania to training workers to plug abandoned oil and gas wells; using Inflation Reduction Act funds to install rooftop solar and geothermal heating systems at Boston Medical Center’s Brockton Behavioral Health Center; and assisting underserved and marginalized communities combat climate change by using Justice40 Initiative funding at The Bullard Center for Environmental and Climate Justice in Houston.
Signatories represent the diverse sectors of America Is All In’s members and include:
- States and territories like Washington State and Guam
- Cities across the country including Atlanta, GA, Boise, ID, Chicago, IL, Cleveland, OH, Columbia, SC, Philadelphia, PA, and Hallandale Beach, FL
- Businesses including Amalgamated Bank, Carrier Global Corporation, Edison International, Klean Kanteen, and TransPak Inc
- Educational institutions like American University, The Bullard Center for Environmental and Climate Justice, Littleton Elementary School District, and Truckee Meadows Community College

- Health care institutions including CommonSpirit Health, Mass General Brigham, and Legacy Health

About America Is All In
America Is All In is the most expansive coalition of leaders ever assembled in support of climate action in the United States. Mobilizing thousands of U.S. cities, states, tribal nations, businesses, schools, and faith, health, and cultural institutions, the coalition is focused on pushing and partnering with the federal government to develop an ambitious, all-in national climate strategy that meets the urgency of the climate crisis; scaling climate action around the country to accelerate the transition to a 100 percent clean energy economy; and promoting the leadership of non-federal actors on the world stage.
Led by the U.N. Secretary General’s Special Envoy on Climate Ambition and Solutions Michael R. Bloomberg, Washington Governor Jay Inslee, Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles, Apple Vice President of Environment, Policy and Social Initiatives Lisa Jackson, and former White House National Climate Advisor and and 13th U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Gina McCarthy, America Is All In, supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies, is driving a nationwide movement to cut U.S. emissions in half or more by 2030 from 2005 levels and reach net zero emissions by 2050, while guarding against the impacts of climate disruption.
Alongside whole-of-government action on climate, America Is All In champions a whole-of-society mobilization to deliver the transformational change that science demands, with the goal of a healthy, prosperous, equitable, and sustainable future.
