Baku, Azerbaijan – Today, America Is All In Co-Chairs Washington Governor Jay Inslee, Lisa Jackson, Apple's Vice President of Environment, Policy and Social Initiatives and former EPA Administrator, and Gina McCarthy, the first White House National Climate Advisor and former EPA Administrator, sent the following statement to the leaders and negotiators at COP29:

"In this critical moment in the global fight against climate change, the America Is All In coalition, representing U.S. states, cities, tribal nations, businesses, universities, faith communities, health care institutions, cultural institutions and museums, and more, is committed to continuing and enhancing action in the United States. We welcome the announcements by Brazil, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates of ambitious, 1.5℃-aligned 2035 nationally determined contribution climate targets, in line with their respective net zero emissions targets. And we applaud the announcement today that Canada, Chile, the European Union, Georgia, Mexico, Norway, and Switzerland aim to submit similarly ambitious 2035 climate targets.

As leaders who recognize the existential threat climate change poses to our nation and our planet, we are committed to continuing to take ambitious action towards a 1.5℃ future, consistent with a credible national net zero trajectory to 2050 in the United States. We will do our part. We stand with you, and encourage all countries to show leadership in setting ambitious, 1.5℃-aligned, economy-wide 2035 targets that are at least on a straight line to your respective net zero goals."

About America Is All In
America Is All In is the most expansive coalition of leaders ever assembled in support of climate action in the United States. Mobilizing thousands of U.S. cities, states, tribal nations, businesses, schools, and faith, health, and cultural institutions, the coalition is focused on pushing and partnering with the federal government to develop an ambitious, all-in national climate strategy that meets the urgency of the climate crisis; scaling climate action around the country to accelerate the transition to a 100 percent clean energy economy; and promoting the leadership of non-federal actors on the world stage.

Led by the U.N. Secretary General’s Special Envoy on Climate Ambition and Solutions Michael R. Bloomberg, Washington Governor Jay Inslee, Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles, Apple Vice President of Environment, Policy and Social Initiatives Lisa Jackson, and former White House National Climate Advisor and 13th U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Gina McCarthy, America Is All In is driving a nationwide movement to cut U.S. emissions in half or more by 2030 from 2005 levels and reach net zero emissions by 2050, while guarding against the impacts of climate disruption.

Alongside whole-of-government action on climate, America Is All In champions a whole-of-society mobilization to deliver the transformational change that science demands, with the goal of a healthy, prosperous, equitable, and sustainable future.
