Suzanne Elise Walsh, JD MSSA, 19th President of Bennett College, and her team used data to inform a radical academic restructuring, dismantling the traditional semester system in favor of the innovative minimester system, increasing student retention to 90% with 63% of students actively participating in internships or experiential learning. Under Walsh’s leadership, the College has 3 years of positive cash flow, introduced a virtual learning option for students unable to attend in-person, created innovative business partnerships to support key administrative functions, secured a historic financial investment strategy and is currently the only women's college with a U.S. Small Business Administration Women's Business Center on its campus. Walsh is a member of the Homeland Security Academic Partnership Council - appointed by the secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, has published or edited several books and journal articles on the topic of educational transformation, and is the recipient of numerous awards, honors, and fellowships.
Walsh's pioneering work at the intersection of innovation, technology, and learning has earned her national and international acclaim.
