Daniel Rickenmann is the 71st Mayor of Columbia, South Carolina. He is an innovative entrepreneur and a dedicated public servant with a passion for improving the quality of life for all in the Palmetto State’s Capital City. Rickenmann advanced into the Office of the Mayor after serving over a decade on City Council as both an at-large and District 4 City Council member. Raised in Spartanburg, he moved to Columbia to attend University of South Carolina and loved the city so much that he never left. Since taking office, he has worked tirelessly to enhance public safety, improve city services, increase sustainability initiatives, and make Columbia’s environment more business friendly.
