Training for the Clean Energy Future

America Is All In and Philadelphia city leaders kicked off a week-long celebration of clean energy jobs with a fourth stop on the America Is All In Tour that highlighted the critical role workforce development programs play in creating good-paying jobs.

CTE Building Trades

We headed to Mayfair Middle School to learn about the their CTE Building Trades Program. As Philadelphia’s first and only Building Trades Program for middle schoolers, Mayfair Middle School students are already learning about careers in renewable energy.

Bright Solar Futures

High school students from Philadelphia Energy Authority’s Bright Solar Futures program taught All In leaders a lesson on electricity basics. The first of its kind in the nation, the program trains students in solar and battery storage installation, design, sales, weatherization, construction basics, and job site safety.

GRIT Program

Energy Coordinating Agency (ECA)’s Green Retrofit Immersive Training (GRIT) program hosted the commencement for its newest graduating class. The GRIT program offers training that includes hands-on labs, an internship, and placement into living wage jobs with contractors performing green home retrofits.

Roundtable Discussion

All In hosted a roundtable discussion with local, state, and federal leaders, “Leveraging Federal Dollars to Supercharge the Philadelphia Region’s Clean Energy Transition and Create Good-Paying Jobs.”
